The first annual WHO International Pathogen Surveillance Network (IPSN) Global Partners Forum (GPF) took place on October 13, 2023 in Berlin, Germany, alongside the World Health Summit which brings together country, regional and global partners involved in pathogen genomic surveillance. [1, 2]

  • May 20, 2023 the WHO Pandemic Hub launched the IPSN – as a global network to accelerate progress on the deployment of pathogen genomics (not just emergency) and improve public health decision-making.
  • June 2021 the WHO held their first meeting of the working group on strengthening WHO preparedness and response to health emergencies
  • In May 5, 2021 Germany launched the new global Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence (the WHO Pandemic Hub), which opened in Berlin September 2021.
