On February 1, 2024 Australia began a Senate inquiry to draft the terms of reference (ToR) for a future Royal Commission to investigate the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. [1]
On October 19, 2023, Senator Malcolm Roberts of One Nation put a motion before the Senate to set up a committee to produce the Terms of Reference for a COVID-19 Royal Commission, something the party suggested in February 7, 2022 because of the failed pandemic response. If we don’t formally “understand the mistakes we are doomed to repeat them.” This was accepted, the public made submissions, some jointly, and the Inquiry report is due March 31, 2024. [2, 3, 4, 5]

Australia’s PM Anthony Albanese promised in his election campaign to hold a Royal Commission, but reneged, instead on September 21, 2023 announced a 12 month “Commonwealth Government COVID-19 Response Inquiry” [6, 7], which shockingly only looks at the federal response and exclude unilateral actions of states or territories – the very entities that forced the draconian mandates and edicts upon their citizens under repeated State Emergency powers.
