Dr Fauci: Calm one day, prepare for pandemic restrictions the next

On February 26, 2020 Dr Anthony Fauci wrote to CBS News that Americans should not yield to fear. On February 27, 2020, next day, he wrote "be prepared to mitigate an outbreak in this country by measures that include social distancing, teleworking, temporary closure of schools, etc." [1] February 27th was also the day the media narrative in the U.S. shifted, with the New York Times leading the way with its first alarmist piece, by Peter Daszak of the EcoHealth Alliance, and also an alarmist podcast with science and health reporter Donald G. McNeil Jr., which quoted directly from China a 2% mortality rate for the virus. It is also the day Deborah Birx was hired as the Coronavirus Task Force Coordinator." [2]

NIAID establishes CREID global network to investigate pandemic pathogens

On August 27, 2020 the US NIH announced that the NIAID has established the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID), justified by the "impact" of COVID-19 pandemic, they promisie to set up worldwide surveillance architecture to identify the next pandemic pathogen before it moves from animal to human. [1, 2] Coronaviruses begin the pathogen list. The CREID Coordinating Center  is a partnership between the Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI) parnered with non-profit RTI International. [3, 4, 6] "The CREID network – comprised of 10 research centers and the coordinating center– is a network of centers in regions around the globe where emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks are likely to occur."  The global network involving "multidisciplinary investigations" hope to find out "how and where viruses and other pathogens emerge from wildlife and spillover to cause disease in people." DHVI just happen to be researching a a pan-coronavirus "super vaccine" for protection against future variants! [5] NIH seed fund is approximately $17 million in grant funding of $82 million over 5 years.  Peter Daszak's EcoHealth Alliance was awarded one of the first grants, and CREID is working with China.

The Lancet One Health Commission Framework is launched

On May 9, 2020 the article titled "Reconnecting for our future: The Lancet One Health Commission" was published by Amuasi et al in The Lancet to officially announce the commissions framworkd.  The commission was formed a year earlier. At the core of the Commission's work is the "recognition of several possible approaches to examining the animal–environment–human interface" which they "distill into three distinct but interrelated dimensions" [1, 3, 4] EcoHealth Alliance's (EHA) Peter Daszak, funder of Wuhan Institute of Virology's coronavirus research is on The Lancet One Health Commission! EHA is stated to be "A leader in the One Health movement which began in 2004" [2]  “One Health, One World™" movement traces back to 2004 before the rebranding of EcoHealth Alliance in 2010 The commission members released in 2021 - One Health as a Pillar for a Transformative Pandemic Treaty - Policy Brief , by Arne Ruckert et al [5], which seems to have began with a Canadian Public Health paper by Ruckert! The "One Health framework by Amuasi et al (shown in Figure 1) to inform the work of the Lancet Commission on One Health, depicts the systems at this interface in a more connected way. It describes three..> READ MORE

Australian Biosecuirty CRC for Emerging Infectious Disease is founded

On November 21, 2003 the University of Queensland launched the Australian Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre (AB-CRC) for Emerging Infectious Disease following the award of a 7-year federal government grant of $60 million to a consortium. It consisted of 3 universities, 8 federal and state government agencies, 5 industry groups and 3 international organisations (Bangkok, New York and Winnipeg). [1, 2, 3, 4] The intent is for the partners to combine their resources and expertise using the latest diagnostic, computer and satellite technologies to develop specialised early warning systems for the rapid detection and response to disease outbreaks. The spread of new infectious diseases into Australia, through the movement of people and animals, viruses jumping from animals to humans, or even bioterrorism, is an increasing risk according to Dr Stephen Prowse the CEO “The global SARS epidemic is a perfect example of the far-reaching impacts of newly emerging diseases” Dr Prowse said. Experts in  AB-CRC, including Dr Hume Field and Professor John Mackenzie who were involved in the global response to the SARS outbreak, under the auspices of the World Health Organization. [3] Prof Mackenzie was on the WHO Emergency Committee in 2020, and both were authors on The Lancet statement..> READ MORE
