First COVID-19 vaccine administered in UK, which is the first western country to rollout the vaccine

As planned, on 7 December, 2020 the UK is the first western country to roll out it’s emergency use COVID-19 vaccine, of which 90 year old Margaret Keenan publicly received the first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine (she gets second dose on Dec 30) and William Shakespeare was the first man to receive the vaccine outside of clinical trials. “On 2 December 2020, the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine was approved for use in the UK, becoming the first to be authorised anywhere in the world. This was followed on 30 December by the cheaper and easier-to-distribute Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.” [2]

The US administered their first COVID-19 vaccine on December 14, 2020
