On April 28, 2022 the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released their Australia wide provisional mortality statistics for 2021 which when you compile the data from their spreadsheet shows an increase in all-cause mortality of 8,706, with a definite increase above normal beginning in April/May 2021 when you look by month.
Interestingly 2020 deaths were lower than 2019 and 2020. [1, 2, 3]
It’s getting increasingly hard to find statistics on the ABS website!
