President Vladimir Putin of Russia declared the start of a “special military operation” in the Ukraine on February 24 2022 (23rd US time zone) with the goal to:
- “demilitarize” but not occupy the country [4],
- to ensure the security of the people of Donbas region and
- the de-Nazi-fication of the region (the para-military neo-Nazi groups that have allegedly been backed, armed and trained by Western military), [5, 6] and
- to bring human rights violator criminal, neonazis to justice. [1, 2, 3]
- “14,000 people had died in fighting between Ukrainian government forces and eastern Ukrainian separatists before Russia invaded, or as Putin and the Russians see it, before they finally felt forced to respond. Not only to answer those pleas for help, but also to protect their own borders and their own security.” [7]
On February 6, 2024, Tucker Carlson is the first journalist in 2 years to interview Putin, as “you cannot understand this war unless you speak to both sides”.
